Bring on the Australians.

Preparations in full swing for the Fairy Blogmother's visit.

Just been in the shower and (especially for Alice M because it makes her giggle), I spent a while looking at the shampoo/conditioner array.  Lots for hair thickening and body.  A few for glossing.  Some for deep cleansing and extra shine.  All utterly useless for me but it did remind me to email the FB and tell her not to bring shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste (though would prefer she brought her own toothbrush!) or dressing gown.

Now just got to make bed, label stuff in kitchen so vague handwaving makes sense and remember that she will get in the wrong side of the car EVERY time we go anywhere..

Also must remember that have friends coming for lunch on Saturday and need to go to hospital for chemo tomorrow.

Oh yes and send Laura the Rules of Cricket.  Not that we are excited about the start of the Ashes tomorrow or anything.

To start you off, Laura, here's a quick diagram to explain how the field is set.  You don't have to learn them all but generally tossing around terms like "Deep backward square leg" or "Silly Mid Off" will impress HWISO hugely....

(Please note Glossary term for "silly")

PS A cricket game can last for 5 days.  Just saying

  1. I am so relieved. Cricket is now easily put in the basket -- along with American football and Lord of the Rings -- of Things Too Complex to Start On Now so Best Bring a Book. Or Sudoku.
